Condition Before Renovation
During inspection of a storage tank with external floating roof, serious damage to the sealing system was found. Identified problems included: cracks and deformations of the primary seal lip, corrosion of metal elements, loss of elasticity in sealing material, visible leaks and traces of product vapor emission.
Damage Documentation
- Primary seal lip cracks along over 30% of the circumference
- Corrosion of clamping plates resulting in loss of tightness
- Deformation of secondary seal profile caused by long-term operation
- Mechanical damage from previous service work
Renovation Work Performed
Techcom Serwis carried out comprehensive sealing system renovation:
- Dismantling of damaged primary and secondary sealing system
- Surface preparation - cleaning, corrosion removal, leveling
- Installation of new Type F primary seal with clamping plates
- Installation of new lip-type secondary seal
- Adjustment and calibration of clamping system
- Tightness tests and technical acceptance
Technical Parameters
- Stored Product: Crude Oil
- New Seal Type: Double Type F (primary) + lip type (secondary)
- Seal Lip Material: Antistatic NBR
Achieved Results
- Complete elimination of leaks and uncontrolled emissions
- VOC emission reduction by over 98% confirmed by measurements
- Restoration of full compliance with PN-EN 14015 standard
- Extension of predicted system lifetime by minimum 15 years
- Significant reduction in operational costs
